A new urban district in Stuttgart is located on Killesberg hill, where the city's former trade fair grounds used to be. The site is close to both the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design and the Weissenhof Estate, and was developed based on a masterplan created by Ortner & Ortner. The district consists mainly of residential buildings, as well as offices, retail stores, and restaurants. The apartment building forms the northern boundary of the district's square.
The free-standing building has six residential floors, a lower ground floor level, and a two-story childcare center. The floor plans of the 18 apartments vary, and all apartments have room-height glazing. Loggias, which are cut deep into the west facade, face the park and provide distant views of Killesberg hill. A spacious apartment is located on the top floor with a loggia that opens up to the sky. The building's roof features a swimming pool. Carved-out terraces function as protected outdoor spaces and extend the play areas of the childcare center.
The building is made of light-colored brick with a lime mortar slurry finish. The facade material serves as a unifying design element, giving the residential building and childcare facility a homogeneous yet lively texture. The floor slabs are visible externally as concrete consoles, articulating the facades.
